Schloss Elmau

Schloss Elmau, in the Bavarian Alps, Germany, Located about 100 kilometers south of Munich, is an alpine resort surrounded by breathtaking nature, with forests and lakes at the foot of the Wetterstein mountain range, about a thousand meters high, in the Bavarian Alps, the largest and richest state in Germany.

A private road takes guests to this dream setting. The property features a Bavarian-style castle, called the Hideway, and a more modern annex building, the Retreat. They are two hotels in one — and they are full of secluded places, where you can choose between the silence of a reading room or socializing with other guests in the various lounges with elegant decor and many fireplaces.

Built in 1916 to be a place of rest and reflection, surrounded by nature, with lots of books and classical music, Schloss Elmau has become, today, a world reference in luxury spa and cultural refuge, with six heated swimming pools, saunas, gym, Turkish bath, two yoga pavilions, three libraries, a bookstore and a beautiful concert hall. Not to mention the outdoor activities in its surroundings, such as hiking, biking and skiing!
